Here is what I found when I checked on the kids in the back yard today. He’s reading.
Later, I found the two youngest kids reclining in the makeshift hammock. “Shhh! Pretend you’re asleep,” he said to her.

Then, still later, I investigated a pound-pound-pounding noise and found my oldest son excavating a hole under the sidewalk. At this point, I said, “Why do you need to dig a hole?”
He looked up at me and said, “Mom, we’re boys!”
That explains it all.
Here it the hole before it reached the center of the earth:

It is a boy thing…my 2.5yr old dug up my bulbs in the backyard and fed them to my dog. When I asked him what he was doing he said, “Helping Daddy make the yard nice.” Interesting concept!

My girls were diggers too. At least where we live now, there are plenty of places that they can (and do) dig! Great photos too!

I read an article about a scientific study the other day. Briefly they have established that dirt is healthy and helps with depression.
Shoot, I could have told them that and saved all that money.

ROFL Love that “mom, we’re boys!” comment.
Sounds like so much fun over there … somedays I wish we could come invade your house for a while. I’d even help with laundry and cooking just to hang out and let my kids run around with yours! LOL!

Oh, what I can look forward to! So far my boys are just into building “pillow houses” with all the couch cushions in the house. May it always stay that soft and easy…
