So last night Katharine McPhee sang an entire song on American Idol while writhing on her knees. While I appreciated her blue toenail polish, I found her performance disconcerting. Why the knees? Why the floor? Why?
I wanted Katharine to stand up. Just stand.
On the other hand, the local newscasters, as well as national newscasters, have begun to stand through the entire newscast. I wish they would just sit down. Their casual standing delivery of the news forces me to change the channel because I cannot stand to watch them stand.
So, to sum up:
1) Singers should not kneel. They should stand.
2) Newscasters should not stand. They should sit.

I am totally there with you on Katharine, it was driving me nuts. I could even focus on her singing, it was distracting. I think Kelly got down on her knees and sang one time too. As for the newscasters, I haven’t really noticed then standing rather than sitting, but I do see how it could be annoying.

I’m with Simon. The whole night was kind of weird. ‘Course when it comes to Katharine, I just think she’s weird. I don’t know what it is. I have to admit that she has improved a great deal and sings quite well, but I just cannot stand her.
Our newscasters haven’t started to stand up yet.

I was visiting a family member in the hospital while idol was on, and we had the sound muted. All I saw was her on her knees and was SOOO confused lol. I do like her though, she’s one of my faves, actually all 4 that are left are my faves!
Our newscasters still sit, I couldn’t handle them standing either. That would just drive me bonkers!
