Weather Alert!

An inch of snow might fall tonight and that’s the lead story on the local news.

You have to love the Pacific Northwest!

Update: 10:35 a.m. The rain has turned to big gloppy flakes of wet snow. The children are entranced and stand outside in this miserable weather soggy winter wonderland. I took photographs, documenting our first snow fall of the season.

I suppose Seattle will now officially shut down for the day.

  1. Yeah, they tried that one on us on the eastern side of the state, too. It’s looking pretty dark out there this morning. Forecast says they’re predicting snow for the next 4 days, though.

You got rain? (What a silly question!)

  2. Our weather folks out here get all twitterpated about the hint of snow also. Over the years we’ve learned that when snow is forecast, we won’t get a flake. It’s the sneaky storms I look forward too!

  3. The last time our weather folk twitterpated over something we were stuck on I-45, 2 hours for every 2 miles, trying to escape the wrath of hurricane Rita.

I know the weather people were so very disappointed when the only thing that was knocked over was a patio chair.

Enjoy the maybe snow. In the software business they call it vaporware. So enjoy the vapor snow.

  7. Even out here in the Midwest, where snow in the winter is the norm, the weather-guessers get all in a tizzy over snow these days. All weather reports seem to be on the hyper side these days, and the guessers have no more accuracy before the storms hit than they did when I was a kid.

My standard response to the weather is “I will believe it when I see it”!

For me the bigger issue is that when we do actually get the snows, drivers who deal with ice and snow every year seem to forget how to drive in it….EVERY YEAR!
