Looking Forward (With Gritted Teeth)

My computer continues to malfunction. All paths lead to wiping the hard drive clean and using the magic “Restore CD,” to start fresh.

I am looking forward to this almost as much as I am looking forward to starting another school week with my underachieving twin boys who exert more energy avoiding schoolwork than they do working.

And I’m looking forward to that almost as much as I’m looking forward to preparing my house for overnight company arriving on Thursday and staying for the weekend.

If you never hear from me again, you’ll know I was done in–defeated, decimated, destroyed–by either my computer and its Blue Screen of Death, schooling-at-home uncooperative twins who just can’t remember to capitalize proper nouns or put numbers in their proper columns during long division or my house, host to millions and billions of microorganisms, thousands of sheets of errant paper, hundreds of toys, dozens of glasses stranded in bedrooms and four kids who make messes quicker than I can clean.

Or maybe I just ran off.

Send chocolate.

  1. With or without nuts? Also, we will need a forwarding address to where you have run off to send the chocolate. We promise not to share it with any of your family.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a friend with major computer problems, after weeks of trying to clean up her machine, I finally wiped it all out and started over. That was in July… she now has the blue screen of death again. ARGH!!!

  2. Computer problems are the worst. I have been avoiding my laptop all week in fear that it will rise up and lead a revolt against me. My other computer is much more docile and well behaved…so far.

    Good luck!

  5. Times like these are when I tell Husband, “I’m feeling Grumpy Girl today.”

Your word verification on this comment is “auaghx”! Fitting, is it not?

  6. You need a mullet. It might help. Good luck with your ‘puter. I had do wipe the HD clean a couple years ago. I almost killed myself talking to Dell technical support, but don’t let that discourage you.

    BLOGA PRECIATED!

Congratulations, Melodee! You are receiving this blog award offered by Eyes for Lies. Please feel free to copy and paste the image award from my blog and display it on yours!

I want to tell you why I appreciate your blog:

I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog because I feel like I get to see into a world that is vastly different from my own. Our lives are vastly different from our beliefs all the way down to our lifestyle.

The beauty about our differences is that we know we respect each other, and can discuss our points of view — without worry of judgement or rejection.

You offer me the ability to learn about why we are different and why you believe the way you do.

You also offer me a glimpse into the world of what it must be like to be a mom. I can experience your exhaustion, frustration — and joy — just by reading you blog. I get a day-by-day account of the thoughts of a busy mom — and for that I thank you.

You also offer me insight into what a pastor’s wife is really like. It certainly is not what I envisioned. You’ve broken some important stereotypes for me — and if I ever met a pastor’s wife now, I wouldn’t shy away from starting a friendship when before (gulp, honesty), I would have!

Thanks for opening my world to new horizons.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

Share the joy. Bloga Preciation the blogs you enjoy today. See details on my blog.

  10. Sorry. I ate all the chocolate that I had.

I burned a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and ate them anyway.

    All of them.

They were gross. But, they were chocolate.

    I feel your pain.

  11. Oh dear! Sounds like my house!

All I have is a half eaten package of Oreos. Want some?

The bag of chocolate chips that were going to go into my oatmeal bars got eaten… a few days ago (they were so good!)

    Sorry!

Hope that your computer gets better soon. What a pain!
